[ Pitou curls up in an armchair, cradling the warm cup in against their collarbones. It takes them a while, they are obviously concussed, but finally they actually look at him. The total fear that had overwhelmed them earlier is gone and now there's just a sort of numb look in their hazel eyes. ]

You're extremely stupid.

[ They sip their drink. ]

[At that comment, Ren has to stop mid-sip and stare with an annoyed look on his face for several moments. He almost can't believe what he's hearing, and the flat tone of his voice says as much.]

And what does that make you.

[He sits back in his own seat with a cup in one hand, some of the tension finally leaving him as he participates in one of his favorite pastimes: sarcasm.]

Forgive me for trying to help.

[ Pitou meets his irritable gaze impassively. ]

How would you like to help us help you out? Your observation period's up and I want you on this particular assignment. You'll be fine, you're probably not going to die, and we'll be able to monitor you from here. We need help. You've got the skills needed even if you don't know it yet. I know it and that's what counts.

You'll be working with a group (wish I could give you the names, still putting the lists together), but your assignment partner is Astin Beaufort. Should you choose to accept this assignment, you will need to meet at Peach Beach tomorrow morning and we'll go from there.

You'll be rewarded for your success, of course, but this is only if we have an agreement. Do we have an agreement?

From the outside, it looks like Togusa is staring off into space, just enjoying the view off the side of the boat as they return to Recolle. In actuality, he has been merrily chatting away with people, since he doesn't need his phone to do that anymore. He seems to blink a few extra times with a 'hunh,' and then finally moves to turn his head to look at Pitou.

"Your least favorite professor admits to having gotten married, but he told me to ask you why he got punched. Lot of people have a lot of reasons to go after him, this one doesn't quite make sense."

Least favorite is possibly an understatement. Or maybe an overstatement. It was hard to tell with Pitou, whether they just hated him or enjoyed hating him. Either way, Ardyn mostly stood for it, and to be fair Grell was probably just satisfied that they had solved their problems amongst themselves this time, even if it had taken a punch.

"He deserved it," is the answer that Pitou gives airily.

[ The cat creature is waiting outside with a cup of coffee, tail swishing lazily. They have done nothing by way of preparation for this expedition. They assume, if worst comes to worst, they'll just have to use their claws. ]

[ They call lazily when they spot the figure approaching from across the parking lot. ]
